Oilfield services company Halliburton and power generation firm VoltaGrid have secured manufacturing for a 400-megawatt gas-fired power system to support data centres in the Eastern Hemisphere, with delivery scheduled for 2028. This marks the first manufacturing deal since the two companies announced their strategic partnership in October, which initially targeted a rollout in the Middle East.

The collaboration involves using turbines, reciprocating engines, and VoltaGrid's QPac platform—a system of power nodes each capable of generating up to 20 megawatts—to provide power generation for data centres. Halliburton holds a 20% ownership stake in VoltaGrid, whose clientele includes technology company Oracle.
