Asset Sale Strategy and Rationale

The assets in question are in areas where Vaar holds a high working interest and has created significant value through exploration. The primary goal of the divestment is to optimize the company's future capital expenditure. While the sale is expected to have a limited impact on production in the short term, it is intended to accelerate value creation and optimize Vaar's overall portfolio. The company anticipates strong market interest in these packages. Some of the assets are already producing, but at low levels currently, with expectations for substantial future growth that Vaar seeks to optimize.

Exploration Performance and Future Plans

Vaar Energi is a major producer and one of Norway's most active explorers. In 2025, the company participated in six commercial discoveries, adding a net 45 million to 75 million barrels of oil equivalent. Key discovery areas included the Goliat Ridge, Vidsyn Ridge, and Smorbukk Midt. For the current year, Vaar plans to drill 12 exploration wells in Norway, a slightly lower number than the previous year but focused on higher-quality prospects. Looking ahead over the next five years, the company's strategy involves drilling 50 to 60 exploration wells, targeting approximately 500 million barrels of net-risk resources.

Reserve Replacement

Vaar reported a strong reserve replacement ratio of 185% for 2025. This means that for every barrel of oil equivalent the company produced, it added 1.85 barrels in new resources.
