DUG Technology and Searcher Seismic have entered into a multi-client agreement to reprocess 3D seismic data offshore East Sarawak, Malaysia.

Project Scope and Technology

The collaboration involves reprocessing over 60 legacy 3D seismic surveys, covering up to 45,000 square kilometres, from the original field data. DUG will apply its advanced full waveform inversion (FWI) imaging technology and pre-stack imaging workflows to create a single, seamless 3D seismic volume of superior quality.

Timeline and Deliverables

The project is scheduled to commence in the first quarter of 2026, with final deliverables available from early 2027. Interim results will be provided to assist with early acreage evaluation for potential clients.

Purpose and Expected Impact

The newly reprocessed multi-client 3D dataset will be licensed to upstream oil and gas companies. It is designed to enable more extensive evaluations of the remaining hydrocarbon potential in and around existing fields and infrastructure. The advanced seismic imaging is expected to significantly uplift imagery, increase prospectivity, drive exploration success, and contribute towards increasing Malaysia's petroleum reserves in this prolific hydrocarbon province.
