Seadrill has secured a one-year contract extension from Equinor for the drillship West Saturn, extending its operations offshore Brazil until October 2027. This extension adds $114 million to Seadrill's contract backlog.

Seadrill's Operations in Brazil

The company now has six drilling rigs on long-term contracts in Brazil. Five of these rigs are contracted with Petrobras, while the West Saturn is contracted with Equinor.

Strategic Collaboration and Operations

The contract extension reinforces the long-term collaboration between Seadrill and Equinor in Brazil, with a shared focus on safe and reliable operations in a key strategic basin. Equinor also charters the Valaris drillship DS-17 in Brazil, with that contract running until January 2028.

Current Drilling Activities

Both the West Saturn and the DS-17 have been actively engaged in drilling development wells. Their work is focused on major pre-salt fields: the Bacalhau field in the Santos Basin and the Raia field in the Campos Basin.
