Kodiak Gas Services Secures Gas Turbines from Baker Hughes for Data Center Power

Baker Hughes has entered into a multi-year agreement to supply gas turbines and generators to Texas-based Kodiak Gas Services, supporting the latter's data center power generation initiatives in the United States. The equipment package includes NovaLT and Frame 5 gas turbines, paired with BRUSH Power Generation generators. The initial award is expected to support approximately 1 gigawatt of power generation capacity by 2030. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

Strategic Context and Industry Trends

Kodiak, which provides natural gas compression services, is expanding into power generation specifically for data centers. Baker Hughes CEO Lorenzo Simonelli highlighted that the agreement addresses the growing demand for flexible power generation technologies, enabling faster deployment of new capacity to support critical digital and energy infrastructure. This deal follows similar gas turbine agreements Baker Hughes signed in 2025 for data center development, including separate turbine deals with Turbine-X Energy and Frontier Infrastructure announced last year.
