Baker Hughes has secured a multi-year contract from Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) to provide artificial lift systems for Kuwait's oil and gas fields. The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Scope of Work and Technology

The contract entails the supply, installation, and maintenance of electrical submersible pumps to enhance production through artificial lift. Baker Hughes will also deploy its FusionPro and Leucipa digital programmes to monitor and optimise the performance of these pumping systems.

Context and Local Presence

This award follows a separate third-quarter contract from KOC for wireline and perforation technology. Baker Hughes maintains significant operations in Kuwait, including a 25,000-square-meter workshop for testing artificial lift systems. Furthermore, the company has signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a research centre in Kuwait's Ahmadi Innovation Valley.
