Prio's Campos Basin Production Update

Brazilian independent oil company Prio is set to commence production from the fourth and final well at the Wahoo pre-salt field in the Campos basin this week. Following the startup of the first two wells in March and a third in early April, the company is currently completing umbilical installation for the fourth well. Once operational, Prio will cap production at Wahoo to approximately 40,000 barrels per day (bpd) of oil.

May Production Decline and Cause

Prio reported that total production in May reached 164,800 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd), a 5% decrease from the record 173,400 boepd achieved in April. This decline was primarily attributed to the need to replace a gas lift line at the Frade field, which caused a temporary shutdown of three wells and a production reduction of around 7,000 bpd. The company expects the replacement and full resumption of field operations by the end of June.

Additional Producing Fields

Beyond the Wahoo and Frade fields, Prio also operates production from the Peregrino, Albacora Leste, and Polvo-Tubarao Martelo fields, all located within the Campos basin.
