Chiyoda and Shell Deepen Long-Standing Collaboration

Japanese engineering services provider Chiyoda Corporation has signed an enterprise framework agreement (EFA) with UK supermajor Shell for engineering and procurement services. This agreement establishes a flexible framework to support potential future global projects by enabling timely access to Chiyoda's expertise.

Key Objectives and Benefits

The EFA is designed to leverage Chiyoda's experience in complex energy projects to facilitate faster mobilisation and enhanced integration between the two companies. According to Chiyoda, this approach aims to improve cost and schedule confidence, enhance project execution predictability, and allow Shell to respond more effectively to evolving market and project conditions.

History of Collaboration

Chiyoda noted it has developed a strong and trusted collaboration with Shell over more than 50 years, supporting major projects worldwide. These include the Pearl GTL (gas to liquids) project in Qatar, LNG Canada, and the Pulau Bukom refinery in Singapore. No potential value was disclosed for future work under the EFA, which was signed with Shell Global Solutions International BV.
