Halliburton has entered into a multi-year contract with Pampa Energia to support the digital transformation of operations in Argentina's Vaca Muerta shale formation. This agreement aims to enhance production efficiency as Vaca Muerta's oil output recently surpassed 600,000 barrels per day (bpd), with projections to exceed 1 million bpd by the end of the decade.

Scope of the Agreement

Under the contract, Halliburton will deploy an integrated program for Pampa Energia that includes digital orchestration, high-resolution reservoir modeling, logistics optimization, and energy efficiency management. These components are designed to increase decision velocity, strengthen team coordination, and maximize asset value.

Production Goals

The initiative aligns with Pampa Energia's objective to increase production in Vaca Muerta by up to 45,000 bpd by 2027. This target reflects the broader upward trend in the region's unconventional oil output.

Context and Previous Deal

Earlier this year, Halliburton secured a similar agreement with Argentina's state-owned energy company YPF to provide bundled unconventional completion operations in Vaca Muerta, underscoring the growing role of digital and operational services in the shale play's expansion.
