Harbour Energy, in partnership with Petoro, has made a significant gas and condensate discovery at the Camilla Nord prospect in the Gjoa area offshore Norway. The preliminary resource estimate from the Norwegian Offshore Directorate places the discovery between 2.2 million and 4.7 million barrels of oil equivalent.

Location and Development Plans

The discovery is strategically located near Harbour's existing Vega subsea field, which is itself a tie-back to the Gjoa production platform. The partners are considering a subsea tie-back of the Camilla Nord discovery to the existing Vega field infrastructure. The well was drilled by the Transocean Norge semi-submersible rig in 375 metres of water depth.

Strategic Context for Harbour Energy

Following its acquisition of Wintershall Dea, Norway has become a major component of Harbour Energy's portfolio, with production averaging 170,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day in the first half of the year. The Camilla Nord well was Harbour's only operated exploration well for the year.

Other Exploration Activity

Harbour also participated in several other non-operated exploration wells. These included the successful Skarv-E prospect in the Skarv Unit and the unsuccessful Njargasas well in Block PL 1110. The company is also a participant in the upcoming Omega South exploration well in the Snorre area.
