Yinson Production Opens First China Office in Shanghai

Floater specialist Yinson Production has established its first office in China, located in Shanghai, to enhance collaboration with key supply chain components. The new office is designed to support the company's partnerships with shipyards, suppliers, fabrication partners, and technology providers.

Longstanding Collaboration with Chinese Shipyards

Yinson Production has worked closely with Chinese yards for several years, involving various stages of work on floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) vessels and floating storage and offloading (FSO) vessel projects. Notable Chinese partners include COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry, CIMC Raffles, and Huarun Dadong Dockyard, supporting fleets across Brazil, West Africa, and Vietnam.

Strategic Commitment and Rationale

According to CEO Flemming Guiducci Gronnegaard, the Shanghai office reflects a long-term commitment to strengthening execution capabilities and building deeper partnerships within China's engineering, fabrication, and maritime industries. He emphasized that as projects have grown in scale and complexity, closer collaboration with shipyards, suppliers, and engineering partners has become critical for delivering projects safely, on time, on budget, and to quality standards. Meeting client expectations—including lower emissions, stronger digital integration, and faster delivery timelines—requires the company to be global, agile, and collaborative, which this office reinforces.
