Clearance and overall dimension
This calculator determines the maximum overall equipment dimension (Da) and casing clearance using theory formulas from the product specification. Casing inner reference can be casing ID or drift.
Radial vs diametrical clearance
Radial clearance = (Dinner − Da) / 2. Diametrical clearance = Dinner − Da.
- Select unit and casing reference (ID or drift).
- Select equipment and cable sizes from reference tables.
- Compute offset height H and overall dimension Da for each controlling section.
- Take max(Da) and compare to casing inner diameter.
Calculate clearance
Select casing mode, equipment sizes, and cable dimensions to compute clearance.

mm
Diameter and clearance values use this unit.
538 - 136.7 mm
177.8 mm, 38.7 kg/m
Select casing size; ID and drift come from the reference table.
512 - 130 mm
casingId
Use casing ID or drift diameter as the inner wall for clearance.
Horizontal offset of motor centre from tubing centre (0 if centred).
88.9 mm Upset
Tubing outside diameter.
