Reservoir Pressure Match Quality

The quality of reservoir pressure matching and of the conductivity of links (flows) between reservoirs is determined by the objective function value. The following expression is used as the objective function:

Where:

  • – calculated pressure,
  • – actual pressure,
  • – weighting factor for the reservoir pressure point.

Summation is performed over all steps for which actual reservoir pressures are specified. At each step, the matching algorithm substitutes the value of the varied parameter, for example original oil in place for a reservoir or the conductivity coefficient for links, or a set of parameters, fully calculates the reservoir production history using material balance, then determines the objective function value. The lower the objective function value, the higher the matching quality (from the viewpoint of the selected matching quality assessment method).
