Matching the system to actual data using a dummy choke
To add a choke, click
on the toolbar at the top of the main screen and place it on the schematic. In the choke window, select the calculation method (fixed diameter or fixed pressure drop) and enter the choke parameters (for a fixed diameter — diameter, discharge coefficient, and choke model; for a fixed pressure drop — pressure drop and choke model).
According to the calculation results, the tubing head pressure at the wellhead ("WH_1A") is 36.83 atm. The actual pressure is 37.7 atm.
1.To match the actual pressure using a choke, add a choke to the schematic and connect it to the objects.
2.Then open the choke window and select the calculation method — fixed pressure drop; specify pressure drop = 0.83 atm (the difference between the original calculated and actual tubing head pressures).
3.Run a snapshot calculation of the model without optimization. Based on the calculation results, assess the effect of the changes on the system (the calculated tubing head pressure is 37.7 atm, which matches the actual value).
